Holiday USA West Coast Road Trip in Aug 2022: Day 2 – Early Evening in Richfield
Vick had booked us into the Sage Brush Grill, which was a 15 min walk down the road from the hotel. Unfortunately, we realised there was no sidewalk, so we ended up walking on the shoulder of the road, which wasn’t great. But we got there!
The restaurant was really nice, fairly empty and we got a very friendly welcome. We tried to apply some learnings from previous trips and didn’t order any appetisers. We went straight to the steaks! Vick ordered a filet which was relatively dry but cooked to Vick’s liking. I went for the blackened rib eye which was dripping in butter. Cooked to perfection and tasted lovely. Fries needed to be a tad more crispy but overall a good meal. No bottle of wine ordered; just a glass of wine and a nice bottle of Sam Adams.
Walking back along the road to the hotel was a little easier since at least we had the view of the traffic approaching us, rather than having to deal with the uncertainty of what vehicles behind us were doing.
Back at the hotel, we turned the light off at around 8:30 which wasn’t bad for our first proper night in the USA.
