Holiday USA West Coast Road Trip in Aug 2022: Day 13 – Early Evening in Las Vegas

By arriving early, we had lots of time to sort out our packing and then to head to the Cosmo hotel to drop off our car (almost a day and a half early).  Then the plan was to walk to The Cheesecake Factory (TCF) at Caesar’s Palace, then pick up an Uber to get back to our hotel.

We headed up the strip to the Cosmo hotel at just before 3pm; we knew the Hertz office was due to close at 4pm.  All went fine with Hertz, and they sorted out the unusual one hour charge because we picked up the car one hour early.

We walked up the strip about a mile past the Bellagio to Caesar’s Palace to the Forum Shops so we could get a booth at TCF.  We took things slowly at TCF: we ordered pina coladas to start with; then stuffed mushrooms as a starter; then we shared a Santa Fe salad; then we had our favourite cheesecakes.  Wow – a fab end to our holiday.

Managed to get an Uber to get back to the hotel.  We had a bit of a faff walking up to the right level to meet our Uber driver.  You just can’t tell what level you need to be on to meet your Uber driver from what’s visible on the Uber map.
