We left the hotel around 7:30am and filled up at the gas station next to the hotel.  I dropped off the Vickster at Terminal 1 and dropped the car off at Hertz.  Apparently, we had got a free tank of fuel, so we didn’t need to fill it up.  Shame no one told us that!

Back to the airport and I joined Vick in the queue to check in.  We had to wait 5 mins in the Priority Assistance queue, but there were no covid checks required, so we quickly got all our boarding cards and headed upstairs to the TSA Pre-Check queue.

Once through and off the train at D Gates, we checked into the Centurion Lounge (one of the perks of having an Amex card) and then promptly walked out again to pick up a Starbucks.  The main store’s queue was humungous, but the queue at Gate D37 was far more acceptable.

The Centurion Lounge has now been extended, not by a great deal; assume they must have done this during lockdown.  The food offering seems to be much better and larger.  It was packed when we first got in and we were lucky to find two seats together.  It did quieten down later on.

Our first flight left from Gate D10 and things were a little delayed.  There was also a lot of jostling at the gate!  We did pretty well though and we got our cases on without any problems.  It was an A321Neo so we had the benefit of the enlarged overhead lockers.

Vick dozed throughout the flight.  I took photos and played a game on my phone to keep me busy.

We landed late, but we had plenty of time so it wasn’t a concern for us.  We arrived into Gate 42B and we were soon off and on our way to the AA Flagship Lounge.
