Writing this at 4:30am which tells you the Melatonin pills I bought yesterday aren’t working. Vick is snoring away though.

Up to date with work emails now – nothing major happened so far which is good. Heading to Palm Springs later where it’s in the low 20s (deg c).

Breakfast at the Hampton was ok – interesting scrambled eggs with ham and cheese thrown in; waffles available.

Didn’t take us very long to reach Banning on the way to Palm Springs where we stopped at our usual Starbucks to get coffee. It was then only a further 20 miles or so to Palm Springs and we were checked in to our hotel room. Starting at the Hilton this visit and we will head up the road to Rancho Mirage tomorrow. Parking on the pavement saved us $18 self parking fee.

Walked up and down the main street Palm Canyon Drive and found a great card shop which had some really creative and unique cards and gifts – there was nothing else like it in Palm Springs. It’s on to a winner. Stopped off at a Mexican and had a salad for lunch – same restaurant that V, J and I had lunch a few years ago. Still as good.

Had an hour beside the pool at the hotel in the afternoon and plan to watch a film tonight.

Ended up having to change rooms since we were put in an adjoining room and there was some Americans in the room next door who i think must have been talking to us they seemed so loud. A dog also started barking. What a hotel. Anyway, we ended up in a junior suite which was lovely.

We popped out to the supermarket to get some more drugs! We also looked at food we could eat in for dinner, but couldn’t find anything suitable.

Decided to get a Thai take out and eat in our room. We watched Parkland which was interesting but didn’t tell us anything about JFK’s assignation that we didn’t already know. Glad we watched it though.
