Holiday to Canada in Aug 2024: Day 11 – Morning in Toronto
Our sleeping is just about normalised to the new timezone, and today we are heading home.
We walked not shortly after 6am looking for a Starbucks. Plenty were open but none if them were easily found. Most were inside buildings with no sign on the outside.
We found one tucked away with a small seating area for us to chill whilst we sipped our drinks.
Breakfast in the Exec Lounge was OK. Vick got some oatmeal; I had some toast.
We negotiated a 2pm late checkout without any real issues, so our day was slowly developing some structure.
We walked down to the harbour to stretch our legs. Vicks knee started giving her a bit of grief, so that was the trigger for us to find another Starbucks.
We found one with some seats in a Longos supermarket on Maple Leaf Square. It wasn’t that comfortable, but it did the job.
We headed back to the hotel, and then walked up to the Eaton Centre on Dundas/Yonge.
On our way out of the hotel, we saw Willem Dafoe walking in. Celeb spot of the day. It took a while to put a name to his face, but we got there in the end.
Back to the hotel to pack up. It was a nice temperature by this point, especially in the sunshine.
The Uber to the airport seemed to take ages due to the traffic, but once we reached T3, we were soon heading through security.
