Holiday USA West Coast Road Trip in Aug 2022: Day 7 – Early Morning in Hood River

After a decent night’s sleep we both decided to miss breakfast after our heavy dining experience last night.  Just after 4:30am, I walked across the parking lot to Starbucks to get our caffeine injections.  Nice and cool this morning.

A fairly long day’s driving expected today – this is the day we arrive on the Pacific coast and see the ocean for the first time on this trip.  We were both looking forward to it.

Vick has been doing research on the road trip for the following day so that we could stop at places along the way that looked half decent.  Today’s trip involved one or two stops for waterfalls, in addition to our normal Starbucks fill up.

Our Thoughts on the Best Western, Hood River

The Best Western at Hood River is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at, especially in the Executive rooms on the top floor in the East Wing.  It’s located right next to the Columbia River, next to the Port of Hood River bridge that links Oregon with Washington state.

Our Thoughts on Hood River

Great location – not quite as fab as Twin Falls, but still worthy of a short visit.  The town has a lot of character with some nice restaurants.
