Holiday USA SW Road Trip in Apr 2022: Day 1 – Home to London LHR

After a very relaxing Easter weekend at home, Easter Monday started very early for me.  It has been fairly warm in the UK for a few days and I found that I woke at just before midnight and was far too hot.  So I got up and chilled in the café.

Just a late-ish flight to Dublin for today, but based on all the discussions about security queues we decided to head to Heathrow early.  We did a final cat walk at 10:15 and then we were driving off at 10:40, having distracted the pussies with some dreamies.

The roads were reasonably clear other than a bit of congestion on the M25.

I remembered the correct lanes to get into as I approached Heathrow T5 Short Stay and kept left to head into Meet & Greet.  No problems with me arriving 5 hours earlier than my booking.  The guy who took the keys off us was very friendly and added a note to ensure the car stayed in the multi-storey so that we could retrieve our cases in the morning.

Up the lift to T5 and it felt great to be back here again.
