Weekend in Winchester in Jun 2015

Headed down to Winchester to see Andrew and Sam. Add in a bit of sailing with Andrew as skip. Turned out to be fun.

I slept through to just after 3am which I was happy about.  Vick managed an extra hour on top of that.  We were offered an upgrade into a suite at the Hilton Garden Inn at Mission Valley which was alright, although not much of a view!

We watched a bit of the Arsenal v Man Utd game on USA, before walking out to Starbucks, which was 5 min down the road.  It was very chilly this morning and we were longing to be back in Nevada!

Once we got back to the hotel, we decided to drive out to La Jolla which is a quaint little town on the coast, north of San Diego.  We went early and found somewhere to have breakfast: Richard Walker’s Pancake House.

Breakfast consisted of corned beef hash and eggs for me (with some pancakes on the side) and a stack of buckwheat pancakes for Vick.  Both were really good.  Another good start to the day!

We wandered down to Seal Rock, which is only a short walk, but it was a great spot for watching seals bask in the sunshine.  That same sunshine was also well appreciated by us, as we needed to warm up as well.

After a little walk down the coast, we headed back to the car and on to the hotel.
