Holiday USA SW Road Trip in Apr 2022: Day 3 – Early Morning

From turning out the light at 8:30 ish, I was up at 1:30am.  I moved into the bathroom to avoid disturbing Vick, but as it happens, it wasn’t long before she was fully awake as well.

The closest Starbucks (within walking distance) would be open at 4:30pm, so we had a focus for the early morning.  We got showered and walked out along Gillespie Street and George Crockett Road to a Starbucks about half a mile away. 

Walking to Starbucks early in the morning is one of those amazing things for us. It’s relatively warm, quiet, dark and we have a lovely feeling of being on holiday!

We were both really hungry so in addition to our normal drinks we had a little something to keep the wolf from the door.

After heading back, we packed up and ordered an Uber to take us to the Hertz office at West Centennial, North Las Vegas where we had a Mustang convertible waiting for us.  It was about a third of the price of hiring the same car from the airport, so the $36 it cost us to get up there was more than offset against the £600 that we had saved.

The lady at the Hertz office was lovely. It was a very small office and she was even happy to change our return location to the airport, which will simplify things for us next week.
