We dumped our stuff in the Flagship Lounge and got some grub.  We did the infamous all terminals walk to increase our step count for the day.  Good to see all corners of the airport!

We left from Gate 148 – the inbound flight was about an hour late and consequently there was a knock-on impact on our flight heading back to Heathrow.

We headed down to the gate at around 4:45pm and we were standing close to the boarding area at 5:15pm.  Of course, there’s absolutely no organisation of passengers ahead of boarding, so we got the inevitable scrum.  There were regular instances of passengers who thought boarding had already commenced going to the scanners hoping to get on board, then being turned away and looking sheepish!

We finally got on board into seats 2D and 2E.  First time I have ever been in a middle pair of seats (as far as I can remember).  Quite spacious, the new First Class suite and especially the middle pair.  It worked quite well.

We left about an hour late, but we were offered drinks before pushing back and we had a menu for selecting food.  Dinner was served about 60 mins into the flight.  The food was pretty good I have to say, although Vick wasn’t impressed with her beef cheek!

I watched Erin Brockovich with Julia Roberts – great film – only seen it about 4 or 5 times now.

Cabin crew couldn’t turn off my personal reading light, but that didn’t stop me from getting about 4 hours kip.  Vick did much better than me – she managed a good 6 hours.

I watched All the President’s Men.  I was offered a tea and an early breakfast; primarily to spread out the workload for the cabin crew to be honest, but I was happy to oblige.  The breakfast was ok, but it wasn’t that hot.

Vick was woken about 90 mins before landing.

We arrived into Gate C55.  No significant delays in starting to get us off the aircraft.  We just managed to catch a train back to passport control, just as we got down to the platform.  Vick sailed through the automated passport kiosk, but I was kicked out again, so needed to “seek assistance”.  I think I did exactly what I did in Dublin when I sailed through without any issues, so am at my wits end to understand what the problem is.
